LETTERS TO MARIA > LETTER #4

Letter To Maria
Waah there’s a lot to say about Kimeru so knowing where I’m off to start is a little though but I’ll do my best. First of all I’ll start
off easy by of course saying that he’s a great artist and that he has shaken me and impressed me in many ways. I know that this isn’t
supposed to be a “novel” but somehow I’m feeling that this letter will be very long and maybe tiring for you to read through (let’s hope
notXD), but please bear with me!XD
When someone finds new artists that they like, they might like that artist after seeing them on TV, heard their song on the radio, found
them on the net etc...
At the year of 2001 I started to watch a series that newly began to run in Japan,
“Tennisu no Oujisama.” I loved the series (cute boys running around pretending to play tennisXD) and as you might know anime series always have an opening and ending theme, and there’s where I first heard the wonderful voice of Kimeru. He sang the ending theme “You got Game” Which caught my heart as soon as I heard it. Often when I see an anime I’m usually not interested in the opening and ending, I might listen to it sometimes but that’s it. But with Kimeru it was entirely different, I felt this b urge to know more about him, hear more of his voice, see more of him, and there’s where it all started started.
At the beginning of 2001 Kimeru still wasn’t that known so the only single that was released was you got game. So there wasn’t so much to
know about him back then, there were a few pictures and such but nothing else. Later on he released chain of mind and once again sang a
new theme in Tennisu no Oujisama “Make you Free” Which became really popular. Well I’ll stop talking about the beginning of his career
now because what you want to know still isn’t that but what I think about him and why you should give him a try.
Well I just wanted to make clear how I got to know about him.
Well Kimeru is so much more than just an artist to me, even though it might sound weird
(Or because you heard lots of other fan girls say it XD) I learned a lot from him.
There are so many parts of him that I love and he gives you one of those indescribable feelings of not what to say when he sings or
says something. On his concert he’s always very upbeat and even though you can’t judge people by how they look, somehow he can only
give me an impression of happiness and honesty. He sometimes cries on his concerts too because he so happy that fans have supported him.
Sometimes when artist get known pretty fast they tend to loose what made them so cool in the beginning, they just blow up and become
full of themselves. But Kimeru he’s just the same, he’s still laughing, he’s still crying tears of happiness, he still loves his fans
and the NOT money they spend on him (even though they pay lots and lots for his merchandise) the only thing that probably changed about
him now is that he’s only bouncier happier and that he also developed a bigger love for food than before.
I always loved Kimeru very much but since the beginning of this year the love I developed for him became beyond explanation and I’m so
thankful for his existence, so much that I just cannot find any words to describe it. And I’ll tell you the reason why (So that I don’t
give you an impression of an obsessive fan girlXD)
At the beginning of this year my oldest brother whose 20 got cancer, my family stopped giving me attention, my parents were never home
and if they were, they we’re fighting. I was crying and crying and really never knew what to do and even if it sounds strange Kimeru was
the one who gave me strength to live on hoping for the better. You see Kimeru he always smiles and laughs and encourages you with his
voice that there is something better. I always thought to my self when I was sad “stupid why are you crying? You have Kimeru” Well that
might sound stupid, but I do, and the all of his other fans have him too. He really makes you b, and there is really only one other
artist that can make me feel the same way (not entirely the same, but very close) And that’s Gackt. He gives of that same charisma and
glow when he enters the stage as Kimeru do, and the funny thing is that Kimeru’s biggest Idol is GacktXD In one of his interviews he
actually says that he really likes Gackt and wish he could sing as good as him.
So they are alike, not in the type of music they sing but they’re same in that ways of making their fans feel encouraged and b.
Anyways, always at that time, to me back then the only thing that did soothe my sorrow was Kimeru, I really love him and I’m thankful
to him for making me go through that time.
Well that was the personal reasons of loving him now let’s go on to the giggly and the sqwee “I love all about Kimeru and he’s sooooo
cute and adorable part” (tired of this yet? XD)
Okay first of all he is so cute and adorable (now, you didn’t know that did you XD) and some even tends to call him kime hime which
suits him perfectly, I always tell everybody that he’s a cute little princess (yes, you heard right princess) His smile and laughter
is so beautiful, he’s smile is actually one of the things that I love most about him. You almost feel that you can’t help it but smile
when you see Kimeru smile. He is so bouncy on stage and actually sometimes he even looks clumsyXD but that’s only charming after all
imperfection is what makes up to the talent he really is, and maybe that sounds weird, but he don’t give of the impression of having
to be the most perfect artist in the world he’s just being himself on stage, and in that way he gives the fans so much more than just
being a superficial perfectionist. He just gives so much more of himself than just his music.
Something that I really love is that he loves to talk about food! Besides singing food is his other passion. So going to his concerts
and hearing two songs then listening to him talking about what kind of udon his grandmother made him yesterday isn’t something unusual.
I think that just that part of Kimeru to talk so freely and as if he knew everyone in the concert hall makes him very lovable and easy
to like even if you’re new to him and his music. He also doesn’t just stare out of the mass of public when he talks or sings but he
also takes eye contact with his fans which really makes you feel like you’re someone personal to him, in all he gives you the
impression of being very close and important to him. And of course all the fans that he takes eye contact with goes all sqwee and
hysterical inside, they turn “omg I can’t believe he just looked at me!” insideXD or that’s what I think at least.
Many people compare Kimeru’s music to T.M Revolution but I don’t find that kind of right. Well the music is very alike in the way of
being high and upbeat and kind of techno but his way of singing the songs (even though it’s almost the same kind of background music)
is entirely different. Kimeru has a deep voice with much power, he can reach the highest volumes easily and he has and outstanding power
while expressing his emotions in the songs that he performs, something that continuously send shivers along my spine. He also has an
enormous skill to adjust his voice after his liking to the songs, which I noticed after watching the Tennisu no Oujisama musicals he
participated in, which I really recommend you to see if you get into Kimeru.
Kimeru’s voice is very warm and engulfing too, making you feel very into his songs and not only just listening, but really listening
to him and what he’s singing about. That’s why when some people go to his tours they go into Kimeru high (some kind of addiction Kimeru
spreads around him) because he makes you so exited, it feels so painful that the concert hall is so crowded you just want to dance and
jump to along with Kimeru, his voice drives you crazy when singing with all the strength and power he got. He almost gets this glowy
light around him, he really sparkles! And that’s my explanation why he always write kira kira in his column, he wants everyone else
around to sparkle aswell, to get into his rhythm, passion, excitement, and in that way just lose ourselves into his music! Kimeru high!
(My explanation of the Kimeru drugXD)
Something more I also want to add before ending this letter is that in the beginning when I started to like Kimeru I always gave a
special part in the Song You got Game much attention.
Kimeru’s pronunciation when singing words in English is very cute I always remember when I first heard you got game, I always laughed
at the part where he sang “Drive my Heart” Because he pronounced Heart like “Haarth” not Hearutu, Hearto, Haruto that Japanese singers
usually do (at least what I’ve heard in some songs so farXD) And in the song Make you Free he also pronounces Free like “Fwee” and not
Furee. Well that’s just something I wanted to addXD It’s very cute and actually one of the things that made me so curious about Kimeru
in the beginning.XD
Well English isn’t my first language and I’m sure you found lots of faults and stuff, I’m sorry for the bad grammar as well, but I tried
my best in this to express my love for Kimeru and well the reasons for why I think you should listen to him, so please give him a try
okay, he’s really worth listening to, and if this letters hasn’t convinced you to do so, I really hope that one of the other letters do
because if there is any artist that I’d truly recommend of all my heart it’ll be Kimeru.
I think I really mentioned why I like Kimeru so much (no, really? XD) but lastly to end it all, it’ll probably be his big heart that
makes me love him so much, but there is actually something else too. His smile. And not in the way because his smile just looks good, no
not at all. His smile for me carries the true meaning of happiness. When I look at him when he smiles I often have a hard time to keep
my tears inside because somehow beyond that smile there’s something that I call indescribable joy, and that’s what Kimeru brings me,
Joy.
In one phrase of the song You Got Game, Kimeru sings, “Drive my heart” I can say by now that Kimeru has really driven my heart.
Maria, please enjoy Kimeru in the future!
Thanks for reading.
