A Message from Maria - 09/06/2005

I was really genuinely impressed by the passion and conviction so many people wrote with while trying to express their admiration for Kimeru. So many of you said that even if you didn't win the contest, you still just wanted me to know about this amazing artist and that I'd be missing out if I didn't give him a listen. this is a sentiment you don't often hear from fans of any artist so I wanted to give you all a hearty pat on the back for that, it displays a remarkable level of maturity and a true desire to share the joy of knowing an artist, and I found that very touching in all the letters, so thank you everyone for that.

I managed to narrow down the letters I liked most to four, and after that I had a very difficult time deciding the two I liked best. After a lot of consideration I finally chose:
#1 - letter 7
#2 - letter 9

both letters expressed best what I feel is the most important role of an artist -- Kimeru's influence on the writers' lives. How he moves and inspires his fans, how he pours all of his efforts into sending everyone his love and talent, and most of all, how his fans receive these efforts with open arms. I felt these two letters best and most clearly stated these things, so congratulations to both the writers! and thank you everyone for introducing me to Kimeru.
